Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) for Property Managers

To be perfectly honest, we've actually had very few questions - so in order to fill up the contents of this page we've imagined what you, the property managers, might ask, and answered those questions here instead! (Student FAQ click here)
  1. Why are you doing this?
Because it can be a real pain in the butt to find off campus housing around the UNC campus, and no one has put together a cool search engine like this yet!
  2. Yeah, but why are you doing it for free?
The best things in life (or the internet) are free! Think: Google, Facebook, Twitter, and so on. We've decided to join in the mantra: Make something excellent, and then figure out how to make some money from it! And we promise to do no harm.
  3. Will it always be free?
Yup. That's the idea! Property managers will always be able to post an unlimited number of property listings on the site for free. But (ah hah! you knew it - there is a BUT). But, even though it's great now, we plan on adding even more awesome features which we will offer to our paying customers. Ok, buts over.
  4. How many property listings can I put on the site?
How many you got? That many + 1. We never put a cap on this thing, but if things get out of hand, we'll let you know and the we will put a cap on it.
  5. Who is going to make sure that the listings are up to date?
You, us and those pesky college students. That's who. Here's the scenario:

Student: Hi, I was looking on UNCO-Housing.com and I see that you have a house for rent on X street.
You: Yeah, actually that's been rented for like 3 months.
Student: I am very displeased, you have wasted my time!

If that happens to you a lot it will probably get back to us and we will do something about it.
  6. Can I feature a listing on this site?
Yes, premium members will be able to feature listings on the site (see question 11).
  7. Are you planning some diabolical scheme to hold my property listing pages hostage?
    No.
  8. Can I delete my listings/account?
Yes, you can delete your listings at any time, but why bother deleting them when you can just deactivate them once they've been rented? (Deactivating a listing pulls the property listing from all search results, but won't delete it. You can reactivate it later).

To delete a user account please contact support@unco-housing.com. Deleting a user account will also remove all associated property listings.
  9. Who has access to my listings?
You do. And we do too, but don't expect us to do anything about it unless you fail to keep your listings up to date, you violate our terms of service or you specifically ask us to activate/deactivate/edit/delete them.

One more thing. If you hire a photographer, you or we can grant them access to your account solely for the purpose of updating the pictures.
  10. Can I add multiple users to a single account?
No, not yet. But this is a feature that we are planning to add in the future for premium accounts.
  11. Uh, what is a premium account (you mentioned something about it in question 10)?
Premium accounts don't exist yet, but, in the future, premium accounts will get lots of nifty extras - granted, you have to pay for these "nifty extras", but they will be well worth the cost of admission!
